Since my early age, images was sustaining my eyes... by every single detail, with every untold story, holding the moment in a fraction and revealing the simple truth. I was born and raised in Lebanon, during the civil war, where everything started for a reason and finished for another, even other reasons. The only concern and primary priority was: Safety. Everything else was secondary... After finishing high school, I was driven by one idea: defending the truth, so I chose to study law, without letting down my other love to photography. But as it was always; the instability of my country forced me during the last war to quit college in my third year and start a small photography studio. The years passed... slow and fast, dark and bright, and we were struggling to understand the new situation: peace ! In 2007, we moved my wife and three daughters to the united states, New York City, to the united nations where she got a new opportunity. I got also a new opportunity; the opportunity to discover the new era of photography, with all the creativity, and inspirational icons around me.the new era of Social media, photographers, life style, fashion, food, art, visual impact, of the vertical city... Being a visual person put things in different perspective, where angles might change the whole picture. My name is Joe Chahwan and I'm a life explorer, trying to define the thin line between black & white, between light and shadow.. between life and death.
